From Retirement to Renowned Vineyard

After thirty-two years with Hewlett Packard, Mike Naggiar sought a new challenge. He and his wife Diane turned their passion for their one-acre hobby vineyard in Saratoga, California, into a quest to find the perfect location for a commercial vineyard. Their three-year search led them to a 60-acre plot in the Sierra Foothills, just outside Grass Valley.

Establishing a Vineyard with Vision

In 1998, Mike and Diane “retired” to develop their dream vineyard. With the help of an expert, they planted vines and immersed themselves in the grape-growing business. Their premium wine grapes quickly gained a stellar reputation among winemakers in Napa, Sonoma, and their own Sierra Foothills.

Creating a Beautiful Destination

The rural lifestyle and farming business drew family and friends to the vineyard, particularly during holidays. These gatherings inspired the idea of creating their own wines, a venture that blossomed into what Naggiar Vineyard & Winery is today.

The Naggiar family envisioned a 3,500 square foot Tuscan-inspired tasting room offering not just great wine, but a captivating visual experience.
